8 Health Laws
Are you interested in living longer? Are you interested in having a much better quality of life? Find out how eight laws of health can help you achieve these goals.
Pure Air
H.E. Kirschner, M.D., said this: “I also in full agreement with Dr. Philip Welsh, who declares: Any form of treatment, any program of health which does not give full and due consideration to the first essential of life, pure air, will absolutely fail to get the best results, yes, this one question of supplying the body with pure air is important enough to determine the difference between health and sickness, between life and death! Contrast this, if you will, with the popular notion that air, especially night air, is harmful to the sick. Any of my colleagues in the medical profession have excluded air from the sick room. This is a great mistake, for air is the food God has provided for the lungs, and your lings, when deprived of fresh air, will be like a hungry person deprived of food. Therefore, air should not be regarded as an enemy, but as a precious blessing.” H.E. Kirschner, M.D. Nature’s Seven Doctors, page 18.
Every cell in our body requires oxygen in order to function, if the air we breathe is not pure, then we force our body cells to function on this impure oxygen.
The American Lung Association has declared that up to 1⁄2 of all illnesses are either caused or aggravated by polluted air!
Those who do not open the home to pure air are sometimes irritable, sluggish; all the windows are closed in their homes. Chronic sinus conditions or respiratory issues, lack of good sleep, other illness or not being able to stay alert may result. Try and crack windows in the bedroom at least an inch when sleeping unless you do not live in an environment in which it is not practical. During the day air should be allowed to circulate through the entire house including bedrooms in order for impurities to be removed from living quarters.
You can help purify the air in your home by placing a few plants in your home. Plants such as the peace lily, dumb cane, spider plant, snake plant, philodendron can all be helpful. Sunlight

Adequate sunlight on your body will lower your respiratory rate, and will cause your breathing to be slower, deeper, and even easier. Your resting heart rate will decrease, and after exercise it will return to normal much more quickly. Sunlight increases the capacity of the blood to carry more oxygen and take it to your body tissues. Even a single exposure to the ultraviolet light in sunlight will greatly increase the oxygen content of your blood. And this effect will continue for several days. Bronchial asthma patients, who could hardly breathe, were able to inhale freely after a sunbath. (The Eight Laws of Health, Harvestime Books)
When the sun hits the skin, it converts cholesterol into a pro-hormone which influences the entire body as there is a receptor for vitamin D in every type of human cell, from your brain to your bones. Vitamin D is a steroid hormone that stimulates the Vitamin D receptors that is in the nucleus of cells that regulate what we know now as at least 200 human genes in a wide variety of tissues all of which helps to maintain normal body physiology. As pre-vitamin D is carried to the liver and undergoes a process of hydrolization from the liver then it goes to the kidney that activates it into a substance to forming the active vitamin D, which is 125-dyhydroxy vitamin D. Vitamin D also facilitates calcium absorption through the small intestines. It stimulates insulin secretion, retards insulin resistance, anti-cancer, immune modulating i.e. unless we have adequate stores of vitamin D the immune system will be hypo-functioning allowing individuals to get infections easily (viral, bacteria). The body produces certain compounds that act like antibiotics and antiviral agents it is getting from the sun. It enhances muscle mass and muscle strength, even the Heart muscle. Regularly spending even relatively short intervals of only 15 minutes or 45 minutes to 1½ hour a day in the sunlight allows your body to produce vitamin D, and having adequate vitamin D3 levels can drastically reduce your risk of colon and breast cancer. Breast, colon and lung cancer are strongly linked to vitamin D deficiency. Women who are vitamin D deficient have a 222% risk of developing breast cancer. The researchers, from the Moore’s Cancer Center at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), estimated that by increasing vitamin D3 levels, particularly in countries north of the equator, 250,000 cases of colorectal cancer, and 350,000 cases of breast cancer could be prevented worldwide.

Abstemiousness/Temperance

There is a popular saying that you may have heard of; many people say it. “Moderation in everything is good”. The saying is somewhat true and yet misleading. Anything evil should not even be done in moderation. Temperance means using or doing things that are healthful in moderation, but staying entirely away from things that are harmful. Essentially, abstemiousness is self-control or applying self-discipline. Scripture basically says that we should shun that which is harmful, avoid unneeded extremes, and be moderate in the enjoyment of those things that are lawful. Health of body, mind, and soul is impossible without careful, temperate living. Too much sunshine can result in sunburn. Here are some of the harmful things that should be avoided and most people do not consider: tobacco and tobacco products. Others include alcoholic beverages, caffeinated products that can dehydrate the body, especially given that most individual do not drink enough water. Caffeine can cause or worsen the following according to WebMD: anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, bleeding disorders, heart conditions, diabetes, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), hypertension, osteoporosis, nervousness, restlessness etc.

Rest

Lack of rest lowers the immune system, lowers concentration, causes one to have a quick temper, causes one to be impatient and causes impaired cognitive function and fatigue.
Getting to bed by 10:00pm can be very beneficial. Two hours of sleep prior to midnight is worth more than four hours of sleep after midnight.
Melatonin is a hormone produced naturally by the pineal gland a pea-sized gland located just beneath the center of the brain in response to darkness. Some recent studies have found that people who work night shifts may be at increased risk for cancer, which could be linked to melatonin levels in the body. Proponents also claim that melatonin is a powerful anti-oxidant, a compound that blocks the action of free radicals, activated oxygen molecules that can damage cells. Because of melatonin's suspected antioxidant properties, some believe it may suppress the growth of some types of cancer cells. Some supporters suggest that melatonin may also stimulate a type of white blood cell called natural killer cells, which attack tumors. Some recent research has suggested that low melatonin levels in the body may be linked to a higher risk of certain types of cancer. For example, a few studies have found that women who work night shifts for many years and therefore would be expected to have lower levels of melatonin seem to have a slightly higher risk of breast and colorectal cancer. Even if this research is confirmed, however, it does not necessarily mean that melatonin supplements can lower cancer risk. Melatonin has been shown to slow or stop the growth of several types of cancer cells when studied in the laboratory. Whether this same effect occurs in the body is unknown. Several studies have looked at the use of melatonin to treat cancer. Some of the studies have suggested that melatonin may extend survival and improve quality of life for patients with certain types of untreatable cancers such as advanced lung cancer and melanoma. Some studies reported that a small number of cancers went into total or partial remission. Therefore, rest, adequate rest, is extremely important to obtaining and maintaining good health.

Exercise
Exercise will improve the tone of your muscles and blood vessels, changing them from weak and flabby tissue to strong and firm tissue, often reducing blood pressure in the process. It will increase the efficiency of your heart in several ways. Gradually it will grow stronger and pump more blood. It will improve digestion by quickening the circulation and helping to lift the blood back to the heart from the digestive organs and thus normalizing bowel function. It will increase the efficiency of your lungs, conditioning them to process more air with less effort. I will increase your maximum oxygen consumption by increasing the amount available and efficiency of its delivery to body cells. I’m sure we all would like to benefit from an optimal level of oxygen. One study showed that exercise can even improve one’s memory.

Proper Diet
That which we eat, or put into your body affects all of your organs and tissues, and affects our physical health. A wrong diet greatly hinders mental and physical efficiency. An improper diet not only injures our bodies, but keeps our minds from functioning as well as they should. For example, an intemperate man cannot be a patient man.
Increasing raw fruits and vegetables according to some research will greatly improve digestion health and vitality. Three to five servings of fruits and three to five servings of vegetables are generally recommended.
According to the CDC, benefits of healthy diets rich in fruits and vegetables may reduce the risk of cancer and other chronic diseases. This diet also provides essential vitamins and minerals, fiber, and other substances that are important for good health.
There was an original diet given to man and if we can get as close to it as possible we may see some remarkable improvements in health. There is a saying, which states we are what we eat, so lets eat healthy to get healthy.
Do not study, or do heavy work or vigorous exercise immediately after a meal. We wouldn’t want the blood used in the process of digested to be diverted unnecessarily to other areas of the body. When the meal is completed, go outside and take a short walk, with your head erect and your shoulders back. This light exercise will greatly help your digestion.
When you sit down to a meal, take time to eat, chew your food slowly, take in the taste and enjoy it. Try not to in a variety of food at one meal. The benefit derived from food depends less on the quantity eaten than on how thoroughly it was masticated and digested. The amount of time the food is in the mouth and how well it is chewed are both very important to thoroughly digestion. In order to do this effectively, it is necessary to eat your food slowly.

Water
Drinking water is extremely important. Your kidneys alone filter about 50 gallons of fluid a day. In a 24-hour period more that 8 quarts of digestive juices flow into the digestive tract, much of this water is recycled over and over again by you kidneys. But about 2 to 4 quarts of water a day are lost through the urine, lungs, or perspiration. For this reason, if you do not keep drinking water, your kidneys cannot perform their function well, and kidney disease results.
It has been found that water intake can increase physical endurance and ability to work as much as 80%. When you do not drink enough water, your blood thickens and flows with greater difficulty. This can cause trouble not only in your body tissues and organs, but also to your heart that must pump that sludge blood.
In order to keep from constantly running to the bathroom because of drinking water, try drinking one gulp or two at a time every 10 to 15 minutes.
Eight glasses of water is recommended daily, but you must keep in mind your height, weight, activity level as well as if the day is cool or hot. Some now recommend that water should be drunk throughout the day until the urine is clear.

Trust In Divine Power/God
Major publications such as the New York Times and Huffington Post have printed information, which suggests that a belief in God have positive results on outcomes of various therapies. In their work entitled Explaining the Relationships Between Religious Involvement and Health, Linda K. George, Christopher G. Ellison & David B. Larson shows that there is increasing research evidence that religious involvement is associated with better physical health, better mental health, and longer survival.
In a 1991 edition of the Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, the authors of a study noted they found increased life purpose and satisfaction, a health-promoting attitude; and decreased frequency of medical symptoms in those that expressed spiritual experiences, a belief in God.
“Circumstances may separate friends; the restless waters of the wide sea may roll between us and them. But no circumstances, no distance, can separate us from the Saviour. Wherever we may be, He is at our right hand, to support, maintain, uphold, and cheer. Greater that the love of a mother for her child is Christ’s love, for His redeemed. It is our privilege to rest in His love, to say. “I will trust Him; for He gave His life for me.” (The Ministry of Healing, page 71-72)
Countless individuals have found that trusting in divine power was the foundation of the drastic turnaround of their health crisis.
